Additional Use Case: Price Transparency

COMPANY PLEDGE: We pledge to the CMS Interoperability Framework and to work collaboratively to accelerate production-scale implementation of Advanced Explanations of Benefits. We commit to generating and exchanging Good Faith Estimates and AEOBs using standardized formats, leveraging existing claims infrastructure, Transparency in Coverage (TiC) and hospital price transparency data, and X12 and HL7 FHIR standards, and delivering them in usable form to patients through patient-facing applications (PFAs) and networks. We believe patients should know their personalized out-of-pocket cost before services, based on their specific plan and benefits, compare providers based on price and coverage, and make informed healthcare decisions using usable, complete data, moving price transparency from delayed implementation to operational reality at scale.
