Following the 10/10/2017 MLN call describing proposed changes to the Quality of Patient Care (QoPC) star ratings and a one-month comment period, CMS is finalizing the proposal to remove the Influenza Vaccination Measure from the QoPC Star Ratings. The updated methodology to compute the QoPC Star Ratings will be implemented in the April 2018 Home Health Compare refresh.

During this webinar, CMS will present the rationale, comments received, timing, and impact of this change. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

IMPACT Act: Drug Regimen Review Measure Overview for the Home Health Quality Reporting Program Call

Thursday, August 17 from 1:30-3 pm ET

The Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation of 2014 (IMPACT Act) requires reporting of standardized patient assessment data by post-acute care (PAC) providers (including skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long-term care hospitals) for specified domains. During this call, CMS and measure developers will present the Drug Regimen Review (DRR) quality measure which was adopted to fulfill the medication reconciliation domain requirement of the IMPACT Act.  This call will focus on the home health measure.  A question and answer session follows the presentation.

Agenda:

  • Review the goals of the DRR measure
  • Review guidance and walk through scenarios for coding the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) items used to calculate the measure

May 3 and 4 Home Health Quality Reporting Program Provider Training Video Recordings Are Now Available

Video recordings of presentations made at the Home Health Quality Reporting Program Provider Training which took place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 3 and 4, 2017, are now available. The focus of the two-day training event was to provide Home Health Agencies (HHAs) with assessment-based data collection instructions and updates associated with the changes in the release of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) C2 which became effective on January 1, 2017, and other reporting requirements of the Home Health Quality Reporting Program. This training covered information presented during the November 2016 Home Health Training in Dallas, TX, including additional information on those topics presented in November that generated questions from the audience. Topics unrelated to the Home Health Quality Reporting Program were not addressed in this training.

The training materials (without answers to polling questions and scenarios) for the upcoming Home Health QRP Provider Training at the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD, on Wednesday, May 3, and Thursday, May 4, 2017, are now available under the downloads section below. The training will start at 8:30 a.m. ET and end at 4:30 p.m. ET on both days. There will be an optional Meet-and-Greet with CMS staff and presenters on Wednesday, May 3, from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. ET.

Please note: Due to a few cancellations, we were able to re-open registration and have a few seats left remaining for this training.

Registration for the In-Person Home Health Quality Reporting Program Provider Training on May 3 and 4, 2017, at the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor is full.

If you are planning on attending, we suggest that you make hotel reservations as soon as possible. Hotel space is limited.

If you are no longer able to attend, you should have received an email with instructions on how to cancel your reservation from the PAC Training mailbox at PACTraining@econometricainc.com. Please do so as quick as possible, so we can make your seat available to someone on our waitlist.

If you did not get a chance to register and would like to attend, please CLICK HERE to access the reservation site and click the Register button to add your name to the waitlist. Should a spot become available, those on the waitlist will be notified on a first come, first serve basis when a slot opens. Registration Open: In-Person Home Health QRP Provider Training, Baltimore, MD, on May 3 and 4, 2017

CMS is hosting a 2-day in-person training event on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, and Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor, 101 West Fayette Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Please note: This training is being offered in-person only and will not be webcast.

Day 1 training will begin on Wednesday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. ET until 5:00 p.m. ET. An optional ‘Meet & Greet’ with CMS and presenters will immediately follow the Wednesday training from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. ET. Day 2 training will begin on Thursday, May 4 at 8:30 a.m. ET and conclude at 4:30 p.m. ET. 

The focus of this train-the-trainer event will be to provide Home Health Agencies (HHAs) with assessment-based data collection instructions and updates associated with the changes in the release of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) C2 which became effective on January 1, 2017, and other reporting requirements of the Home Health Quality Reporting Program. This important training will cover information presented during the November 2016 Home Health Training in Dallas, TX, including additional information on those topics presented in November that generated questions from the audience. It is assumed that attendees will have prior experience with the OASIS. Topics unrelated to the Home Health Quality Reporting Program will not be addressed in this training. The event is open to all HHA providers, associations, and organizations.

Registration for in-person training is limited to 250 people on a first-come, first-served basis. To make this training affordable, CMS has negotiated a discounted room rate with the hotel of $119 per night for the first 50 reservations per night and $129 per night for subsequent reservations.  The cutoff for discounted room rates is April 11, 2017. Instructions to reserve a hotel room will be in the confirmation email you will receive after you register.
