New for 2021: Hospitals can Enroll & Bill Medicare for Outpatient OTP Services
Beginning January 1, 2021, Medicare Part B covers hospital outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) services. Health care organizations may now apply on the Medicare Enrollment Application for Institutional Providers (CMS-855A (PDF)) or through the Internet-based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) to enroll in Medicare. Hospital-based or free-standing institutional OTPs will use the CMS-1450 or 837i to submit claims.
